You can search on Depanna without an account. Here is what happens with your data.

Your location

If you use “Use my location”, your browser asks for permission first. Your location is only used to show providers near you and is not linked to you: you have no account with us.

Postcode or city

If you type a postcode or city, we send that search to Mapbox to turn it into a location.

The map

When you open the map, your browser loads the map images from OpenFreeMap. Like with any online map, they see your IP address and which area the map shows. We send them nothing else, and the list works without the map.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, and our fonts are hosted on our own server.

Contacting a provider

When you call or message a provider, that happens directly through your phone or WhatsApp, not through Depanna.

To show providers how many customers find them, we count per day how often a profile is viewed and how often Call or WhatsApp is tapped. We store only the number: no IP address, no cookie, nothing that says who you are.

Signing up as a partner or for updates

If you sign up as a partner or leave your e-mail for updates, we store what you enter (name, business name, country, e-mail, phone). We only use it to contact you about Depanna. Want us to delete it? Let us know via the contact page.

For providers: your account and the Depanna Partner app

Your account details

When you sign up as a provider, we store your business name, contact person, address, phone number, WhatsApp number and e-mail address. Customers see your business name, address, phone and WhatsApp number on your profile: that is what the profile is for. Your e-mail address is only for logging in and for messages from us.

Your location in live mode

Only when you switch on live mode does the app send your position to Depanna, about every 30 seconds, also when the app is in the background. On Android you then see a notification that stays as long as live mode is on. While you are live, customers nearby see your position on the map. Live mode stops when you switch it off, or by itself when no position comes in for 15 minutes. It never switches on by itself.

We keep the last position of each live session, and the times it started and stopped.

Photos

The photos you add to your profile are stored on our server and can be seen by anyone who opens your profile. When you remove a photo, we delete the file.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app gives us a push token: a code that lets us send notifications to your phone. We only use it for messages such as “A customer is calling you”. When you log out, we remove it.

Face ID and fingerprint

Unlocking the app with Face ID or your fingerprint happens entirely on your phone. Depanna never receives it.

What we do, and what our service providers do

Depanna runs the website, the app and the database. Some tasks are done for us by service providers, only for that task and not for their own purposes:

• Render hosts our servers and database, in Frankfurt (EU).
• Mapbox turns addresses into a place on the map.
• Expo delivers notifications to your phone, through Google or Apple.
• Stripe handles subscription payments. We never see your card details.
• Postmark sends our e-mails and Twilio sends the text messages with verification codes.
• Sentry receives technical error reports from the website and the app, without your name, IP address or what you typed in forms.

Deleting your account
